YOUR ENGINEERING CHALLENGE. OUR COMPUTATIONAL EXPERTISE.
Understand flow, pressure losses and thermal performance
KOMES uses computational fluid dynamics to investigate gas and liquid flow, heat transfer and the behaviour of industrial systems. We build the simulation around your engineering objective: improving cooling, distributing flow, reducing pressure loss or comparing design variants.
What we can analyse
Flow distribution and pressure loss
Velocity and pressure fields help identify recirculation, uneven flow and local losses in ducts, manifolds, piping and equipment.
Heat transfer and cooling
We examine fluid flow together with the relevant heat-transfer mechanisms to assess component temperatures and the effect of operating conditions.
Mixing and multiphase flow
The model may include species transport, free surfaces or particles where these are relevant to the process. We select the physical models and level of detail for the agreed task.
Inputs for a CFD study
- Geometry and the design variants to be compared.
- Fluid properties and operating conditions.
- Inlet and outlet conditions, temperatures and heat sources.
- Pump, fan or other equipment characteristics where relevant.
- Available measurements and the criteria used to judge performance.
From a computational model to useful results
We define the domain, prepare the mesh and select the relevant physical models. Quality checks address convergence, mass and energy balances, mesh sensitivity and the influence of uncertain boundary conditions.
The report can include velocity, pressure and temperature distributions, flow rates, pressure losses and comparisons between agreed variants. We explain the assumptions, limitations and practical implications of the findings.
Start with the operating problem
Tell us what flows through the system, its operating range and what needs to improve. Mention available drawings, CAD models and measurements. We can agree on an NDA before receiving confidential technical documentation.
