YOUR ENGINEERING CHALLENGE. OUR COMPUTATIONAL EXPERTISE.
Structural assessment of vessels and pressure equipment
KOMES performs engineering calculations for pressure vessels, reactors, columns, heat exchangers and associated structural details. We agree on the load cases, assessment criteria and reporting scope needed for the design or evaluation task.
What the study can cover
- Strength assessment for pressure, temperature and agreed mechanical loads.
- FEA of non-standard components, supports, attachments and local details.
- Assessment of handling or transport conditions where required.
- Fatigue assessment based on the specified operating cycles.
- Comparison of materials, wall thicknesses and agreed design modifications.
Agree on the design basis
The appropriate assessment route depends on the equipment, material, operating conditions and project requirements. We identify the reference documents and their agreed editions before reporting compliance with a particular set of criteria.
A structural calculation supports the specified engineering assessment. The required inspection, manufacturing and acceptance documentation is agreed separately as part of the overall project responsibilities.
Inputs required
Provide drawings or CAD geometry, material specifications, pressure and temperature conditions, external loads, connection and support details, and the expected operating cycle. For existing equipment, available inspection records, measured thicknesses and repair history may be relevant.
Reporting and recommendations
The report describes the geometry, model, load cases and assumptions, presents the relevant results and assesses the agreed criteria. It identifies critical areas, limitations and recommended changes or additional information needed.
Request a scope proposal
Describe the equipment, its intended use and the decision to be supported. State whether the task concerns a new design, a modification or existing equipment. We can arrange an NDA before reviewing confidential technical files.
